Pioneer Student-Athlete Degree Completion Award

The Pioneer Student-Athlete Degree Completion Award is to support students in their efforts to obtain an undergraduate degree who have exhausted their NCAA eligibility for college athletics. To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be a currently enrolled part- or full-time undergraduate student, with the Athletics Department
  • Be a former CSUEB student athlete who has exhausted eligibility
  • Be in good academic standing
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Demonstrate financial need by filing the FAFSA or CA Dream Act
  • Submit a written statement of intent to graduate, including degree audit information showing a clear path to degree completion for the final term or terms of enrollment at CSUEB
  • Submit a letter of support from the Athletics Department coach of the students’ respective sport, or the Faculty Athletic Representative, or a Department of Athletics staff member

- Award will disburse in the upcoming Winter term
- Recipients may reapply for one additional term
